About Us
The NCBW is a non profit organization
that enables African-American women
to address the diverse needs of their community,
through organizing programs, establishing networks, developing
leadership talent and recognizing
the achievements of African-Americans.
A group of women gathered in the kitchen by invitation of Donna
O'Connor in 1999.
The Chapter was founded by 25 dynamically dedicated women.
On September 22nd of 2001 the Rhode Island group became the
26th state to form a chapter.
We are a working volunteer organization

Our members are passionate about their advocacy
We are happy that you are interested in membership with the
Rhode Island Chapter of The National Coalition of 100 Hundred
Black Women. If you are serious about working with us for a
common purpose to stimulate and develop our community though
service and advocacy in the areas of Education, Health and Economic
